About these terms

These terms cover the Yaplog app and this website, provided by Neu Software LLC, a company registered in Delaware, United States. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using them. You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or use the app with a parent or guardian's permission.

Using Yaplog

You may use the app for your own personal use on compatible devices, subject to the rules of the store you downloaded it from. Do not interfere with the app or website, use them for anything unlawful, or redistribute our content without permission. The app, name, and design belong to Neu Software LLC. Open-source components and AI models remain subject to their own licences.

Recording other people

Yaplog can record the voices of anyone near you. You are responsible for using it lawfully. Laws on recording conversations differ by country and region, and some require the consent of everyone taking part. Do not use Yaplog to record people secretly, where recording is prohibited, or where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy without their agreement. Respect the rules of workplaces, schools, healthcare settings, and other places you visit.

AI answers can be wrong

Transcripts are produced automatically and may mishear words, miss speech, or attribute it incorrectly. Answers from the on-device AI may be incomplete or inaccurate. Yaplog is a personal memory aid, not an official or verified record. Don't rely on it for legal, medical, financial, or safety decisions without checking.

Your data and your device

Your log lives on your phone, and you are responsible for it, including keeping your device secure and making any backups you want. If you delete the app or your log, or lose your phone, we cannot recover it. Recording and AI models use storage and battery; Yaplog pauses recording when space runs low.

Availability

Features depend on your device, operating system, permissions, and settings, and may change as the app improves. Background recording can be stopped by your operating system. We can't promise uninterrupted availability or support for every device. AI models are downloaded from a third-party host that we don't control.

App-store terms

Downloads and any purchases are also subject to the terms of the store you use, including its payment and refund rules, together with any mandatory consumer rights. For the iOS app, Apple's standard end-user licence agreement applies where a separate licence has not been provided.

Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how recordings, transcripts, and model downloads are handled.

Our responsibilities

We provide the app and website as available and take reasonable care in operating them. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee they will be error-free, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for how you use recordings you make. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer rights.

Changes and ending use

You can stop using the app at any time. We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will publish the updated terms here with a new date, and give additional notice where the law requires it.

Law and contact
